Mold Accuracy from the Start

PTA Plastics has gained a reputation for manufacturing intricate and aesthetically pleasing molded parts, with mold design serving as the initial stage of the process. PTA executes all mold designs in a three-dimensional format through the utilization of Cimatron and an in-house team of mold designers. Cimatron’s catalog-based software allows for speedy retrieval of all standard components, ensuring an efficient mold design process from beginning to end.

Our facilities in both Connecticut and Colorado are equipped with state-of-the-art CNC and EDM technologies, complemented by fully equipped mold shops. Furthermore, PTA constructs around 200 molds annually and possesses the capacity to handle projects of all sizes.

Employing DFM Principles

We adhere to a philosophy that values tailoring our tool build approach to the specific needs of each customer. By employing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, we strive to offer customized solutions that cater to our customers’ individual needs, rather than imposing a generic approach. PTA provides mold warranties that are customized to suit different project requirements and establishes a paperless environment with prompt control over Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). Additionally, PTA employs a variety of coating and plating options in order to increase the lifespan of molds when working with materials that are highly abrasive.
